Port Overview

As the largest international commercial port in Taiwan, the Port of Kaohsiung is strategically located along the southwestern coast. It is the primary gateway and logistics center for Taiwan's import and export cargo.
The port is divided into First and Second Harbors, covering a total port area of over 17,000 hectares and featuring 139 berths that accommodate a wide range of vessel types. It is capable of serving ships up to 200,000 DWT, offering high operational flexibility.
The First Harbor is located at 120°15'25" E, 22°37'01" N; the Second Harbor at 120°18'26" E, 22°33'21" N.

Port of Taichung

Port Overview

As the second-largest international commercial port in Taiwan, the Port of Taichung is centrally located on the west coast. The port is equipped with automated unloading and storage systems, supports various vessel types, and is undergoing expansion in alignment with national maritime policies, aiming to reach 78 berths to become a fully integrated international port.

The geographic coordinates of the Port of Taichung are 120°31'01" E, 24°17'24" N. It is approximately 110 nautical miles from the Port of Keelung and 120 nautical miles from the Port of Kaohsiung.

Port of Keelung

Port Overview

The Port of Keelung features a naturally enclosed harbor shaped like a funnel, wider in the north and narrower in the south, providing excellent shelter from the wind. It is Taiwan’s northernmost international commercial port and serves as a key transshipment hub for routes to Japan, South Korea, and Northeast Asia. The port plays a dual role in cargo handling and tourism. It consists of two main wharf areas on the east and west sides, divided into three zones: the Outer Harbor, Inner Harbor, and Niuzhuang Harbor. The east side mainly handles fishing and military vessels, while the west side functions as the primary commercial transport corridor. Keelung consistently ranks first in annual cargo throughput in northern Taiwan.

Port of Suao

Port Overview

Port of Suao is a key commercial port in northern Yilan, serving both industrial and tourism functions. It acts as a crucial hub for cargo transit and recreational vessel docking in northeastern Taiwan.
